A family business, Ronco Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (RONCO) provides plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning services for commercial and industrial projects around the Washington, DC Metropolitan area extending from Baltimore to Richmond.

Providing mechanical services for a vast number of projects, including theatres, retirement communities, technical facilities, libraries, apartment complexes, office buildings, condominium high-rises, hospitals, detention centers, colleges, universities and stadiums.

The tight-knit office staff runs like a well-built machine handling everything from bidding of contractual projects to negotiation and design/build with owners and contractors to ensure error-free installation and operation of their systems. 

Ronco's field support is comprised of several levels of tradesmen specializing in plumbing, steam-fitting and welding.  Ronco also employs many registered apprentices in the plumbing/HVAC trade, providing them with the on-the-job training they need to coincide with their classroom instruction.

Ronco's Beginnings

Back in 1960, Ronald F. Wilson -- a plumber whose father, grandfather and many other family members had been in the trade for years -- collaborated with his oldest brother, John J. "Jack" Wilson, to establish RONCO (which stands for "Ron's Company").  Jack was already in business as a union mechanical contractor and Ron was interested in opening a merit shop company to bid work in the commercial mechanical market. 

With some insight from his brother, Ron Wilson started Ronco Mechanical Contractors Inc. in February 1961.  Since that time, RONCO has witnessed a massive amount of change and diversity in the construction market and with the times has grown from a small business to sales of $30 million per year.

Over 40 Years of Success

This pattern of growth over the past 40 years has seen the successful completion of over 450 projects.  A record to be proud of, and a record which they work hard to continue.  Success has lied not only in their sound reputation but also in the diversity of projects they continue to complete, encompassing over 250 schools and universities, 15 retirement homes, 20 hospitals and ambulatory care centers, and literally hundreds of office buildings, warehouses and condominium and apartment complexes.
